Haworth Named OVC Goalkeeper of the Week

Freshman Shelby Haworth has been named as the adidas® OVC Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week for matches played Sept. 8-14, the league office announced on Tuesday.
The Hilliard, Ohio native had a stellar week between the posts and did not allow a goal during 180 minutes of regulation soccer. Her lone goal allowed on the week came with just over a minute left in the first overtime on Friday at Middle Tennessee. On Sunday, she bounced back by recording her first collegiate clean sheet in MSU's 1-0 win at Saint Louis.
Haworth made five saves against Middle Tennessee and a career-high seven at Saint Louis to finish the weekend with an average of six per match. She ended the two-game span with an astounding 92.3 save percentage and 0.48 goals against average over the same period.
This weekend, Haworth and the rest of the Races will return home to Cutchin Field after five straight matches on the road. On Friday, MSU will play host to IUPUI, followed by Northern Kentucky on Sunday. Match times are set for 3 p.m. and 12 p.m., respectively, with both games being broadcast free of charge on the OVC Digital Network.
