Racer Baseball First Pitch Dinner Sets Tone For 2015

Murray State Baseball's 2015 season got off to a rousing start with the First Pitch Dinner Thursday (Jan. 29) at the CFSB Center Murray Room. A large crowd of past players, coaches, current players and several supporters gathered to get the season started.
Murray State 1991 Ohio Valley Conference Pitcher of the Year and 13-year major League veteran Kirk Rueter was guest speaker. He talked about his time at MSU with legendary coach Johnny Reagan and how his time at MSU shaped his success as a professional. Rueter won 130 big league games and retired from the San Francisco Giants in 2005 as the franchise's all-time winning lefthander.

| The Coach Kevin Moulder era is underway and the Racers will open the season with a weekend series at Southern Mississippi (Feb. 13-15). MSU has its home opener at Reagan Field (Feb. 17) against Harris Stowe. Reagan Field is currently undergoing more improvements that started a year ago with chair back and bleacher seating. In the last two weeks, lights have been installed and the old press box torn down. The new press box will be in construction during the 2015 season. Those who gathered for the First Pitch Dinner were excited about the improvements to Reagan Field including the first night game.
