The Murray State men's golf team came home with a fifth place finish at the at the APSU Intercollegiate in Hopkinsville, Ky.

At the Links At Novadel Golf Club, the Racers finished with scores of 276-287-288=851. Belmont was the winner at 832, with Western Illinois in second at 836. UT Martin placed third with a score of 838 and Missouri State finished fourth at 848.

Murray State's Jared Gosser led the Racers with scores of 70-71-68=209 for a spot in eighth place in the field of 71 players. Brock Simmons placed 18^th after rounds of 68-74-71=213, while Duncan McCormick placed 22^nd with rounds of 68-72-74=214. Preston French finished in 26^th place with scores of 70-71-75=216. Matthew Zakutney placed 50^th after scores of 74-73-75=222.

MSU's Gabe Wheeler finished at the top of the 11 individuals in the field and 15^th overall with scores of 70-69-72=211. Daniel Taylor had scores of 75-72-72=219 and was fourth among the individual players and 39^th overall.

The Links at Novadel played to a par of 72 and 6,841 yards.

The Racers play their final round of the fall season (Oct. 26-27) in Gulf Shores, Ala., at the Peninsula Golf Club in the ASU Fall Beach Classic hosted by Arkansas State.
