Jared Gosser led the Murray State Racers with a 14^th place finish at the Arkansas State Fall Beach Classic at the Peninsula Golf & Racquet Club in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

The Racers took ninth place with team rounds of 304-294=598 in the event that was reduced to 36 holes after rain cancelled the second round Monday. The Racers finished ahead of Appalachian State (600) and Nicholls State (604) and just behind UT Martin and Samford (596).

Other MSU scores included Brock Simmons who posted scores of 75-73=148 for a spot in 16^th place, while Gabe Wheeler placed 37^th with scores of 79-73=152. Duncan McCormick and Preston French shared 45^th place. McCormick fired rounds of 82-73=155 and French 78-77=155.

Matthew Zakutney played the event for the Racers as an individual and place 59^th with scores of 82-81=163.

Arkansas State won the event with a score of 582, with Auburn (584), Tennessee Tech (585), Little Rock (587) and New Orleans (591) made up the top-5.

The field of 11 teams played the Cypress and Marsh courses at The Peninsula. Both played to a par 72 and 7,185 yards.

The ASU event wraps up the fall portion of the 2015-16 season for the Racers. In four fall events, they won their own MSU Invitational and threw in a third place showing at the Skyhawk Invitational and a fifth place finish at the APSU Intercollegiate.

The Racers return to action when they begin the spring season (Feb. 28) at the Snowman Getaway at Palm Valley Resort in Goodyear, Arizona. The Racers have five events in the spring leading up to the Ohio Valley Conference Championship (April 25) at The Shoals Golf Club in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.
