Simmons Earns Second OVC Golfer Weekly Honor

Murray State's Brock Simmons has been named Co-Ohio Valley Conference Golfer of the Week as announced by the league office. He shares the OVC honor with UT Martin's Hunter Richardson.

Simmons finished tied for third at the Skyhawk Classic held at Paris Landing Golf Course in Buchanan, Tennessee on Tuesday.

The senior from Murray, Kentucky carded rounds of 70-66-73 to finish at 209 (-7) in a field of 73 golfers. His play helped Murray State to a third place team finish out of 11 squads.

This marks the second time in three weeks Simmons has been named OVC Golfer of the Week.

Through nine rounds this fall he ranks third in the OVC in stroke average at 71.2.

The Racers' next event is the APSU Intercollegiate (Oct. 19-20) at the Links at Novadel in Hopkinsille, Ky.
