Racer Track Signs Two Student Athletes

Murray State track and field head coach Jenny Swieton is pleased to announce that two student-athletes will be joining the Racers' track program. Destiny Carey of Knoxville, Tenn., and Hope Tewes of Pleasant Plains, Ill., will both be wearing the navy and gold for the Racers next fall.
"Carey shows promise in the throwing events," said Swieton. "Destiny's best event is the shot put where we expect her to contribute right away. We are also excited to see what she can do in the weight and hammer throws over time."
Swieton believes Tewes will make an impact in high jump right away. "We expect Hope, along with current freshman Aubrey Main to renew the Murray State tradition in the high jump," said Swieton. "It is an area we have done really well in the past and I am very confident with the addition of Hope, we will do well for years to come."
"We are very excited to start the 2016 recruiting class with Hope and Destiny," said Swieton. "They both have the ability to make an immediate impact on our program."
