McCormick Leads Racers At Palm Valley

Duncan McCormick led the Murray State men's golf team as they fired a 305 in the second round of the Loyola Golf Invitational at Palm Valley Golf Course in Goodyear, Arizona.
The Racers were 36 holes through the 54-hole event with scores of 298-305=603 which placed them 11th in the field of 17 teams. MSU was in front of 12th
place St. John's (610) and trailed 10th place Air Force (599).
McCormick was in 27th place with scores of 75-73=148, while Jordan Smith was a shot back in 36th place with scores of 73-76=149. Jared Gosser and Preston French shared 66th place at 154, while Matthew Zakutney was in 84th place with a pair of 79's. Brock Simmons, playing as an individual for the Racers, had scores of 79-77=156 and was in 75th place.
Utah Valley was the 36-hole leader at 569. Gonzaga (582), Missouri (582), DePaul (583) and Utah (584) made up the top-5.
The Racers' final round tee times begin at 10 a.m. Central Time Tuesday with playing partners Air Force, UConn and St. John's.
The Palm Valley course is playing to a par-72 and 7,015 yards.
Loyola University of Maryland is the host of the event this week.
