Softball Sweeps OVC Weekly Honors Again

Sophomore first baseman Jessica Twaddle and sophomore pitcher Mason Robinson have been named as the adidas® OVC Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, by the conference office on Monday for games played Feb. 23 – March 1. This is now the second straight week in which the Racers have won both weekly conference accolades.
Twaddle hit an impressive .538 on the week, by going 7-for-13. She turned in six runs on the week with a double and a home run for a slugging percentage of .846. She tallied multiple hits in three of four games on the week with four RBIs against Wright State and three again Bradley. She scored in each game this week, including tallying multiple runs in two games.
Robinson went 2-0 in two complete games including, a shutout, over 14.0 innings last week. She allowed just four hits in each game, limiting opponents to a .160 average. She gave up just one unearned run over the two-game span and struck out four. She has now won nine games in a row, including seven this season.
This marks the first time that Twaddle has earned the honor and the second straight week in which a Racer has been named as Player of the Week. Meanwhile, Robinson has now earned the honor in back-to-weeks, making her the first MSU player to be named as Pitcher of the Week more than once.
