Gosser Leads Racers At Grover Page Classic

Round One Results
The Murray State Men's golf team began play Monday at the Grover Page Classic in Jackson, Tennessee.

The Racers had a spot in second place in the field of 12 teams at Jackson Country Club after they carded a 288, just one shot behind leader Tennessee Tech at 287.

MSU had a pair of player of players in the top-10 with Jared Gosser holding down fourth place with a 2-under-par 70. Jordan Smith was in eighth place with a 71. Preston French fired a 73 for a spot in 18th place, while Duncan McCormick was in 23rd place after a 74. Matthew Zakutney had an 80 and was in 57th place.

After TTU and the Racers, the rest of the top five was made up by Lee (289), host UT Martin and Eastern Kentucky each at 291. Cumberland was in sixth place at 292. Southern Illinois (294), Missouri State (295), Tennessee State (308) and Missouri Baptist (295) rounded out the top-10. Jackson State was in 11th place at 315 and Union held down 12th place at 320.

MSU has two competitors in the field of 18 individuals including Brock Simmons in fifth place (23rd place overall) with a 74 and Myles Morrissey in 65th place over with an 82.
