Jordan Smith Named All-OVC Golf

Murray State's Jordan Smith was named to the All-Ohio Valley Conference Men's Golf Team Friday.

The awards banquet was held at Sperry's Steakhouse in Florence, Ala., after the opening round of the OVC Golf Championship.

Smith, MSU's lone senior out of Murray, Ky., was seventh in the OVC with a 72.8 scoring average. He played in 11 events in the fall and spring and placed in the top-10 eight times. He also posted 11 sub-par rounds including a season-low score of 4-under-par 68 at The TSU Big Blue Intercollegiate at The Hermitage on April 10.

Smith, from Murray, Ky., scored his first collegiate win (March 10) at the Grover Page Classic at Paris Landing State Park with scores of 71-70-=141 (-3).
