Miller Named OVC Player of the Week

Murray State junior Shelbey Miller has been named adidas® OVC Player of the Week for games played from April 20-26, the league office announced Wednesday.
The Goreville, Illinois native helped the Racers to a 5-0 week and hit .556 in that span, tallying a hit in each of her five appearances and recording multiple hits in four of five games. In game one against Evansville, she was 3-for-4, and then followed that up with a two double, four RBI performance in game two.
Against Austin Peay, she registered in extra base hit in each of the three contests, including a triple in the finale. For the week she registered a .556 on-base percentage and a .889 slugging percentage.
Miller is now the fifth Racer to earn either OVC Player of Pitcher of the week this season, for a total of six combined honors. The six honors is a program record, breaking the previous high mark of four that was achieved in 2012.
On Tuesday, Miller and teammates will take to Racer Field for the final time this season to close out their non-conference slate against Memphis. The doubleheader between the Tigers and the Racers is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
