Gaskey Named OVC Pitcher of the Week

Senior CheyAnne Gaskey was named as the adidas® OVC Pitcher of the Week by the conference office on Monday for games played March 30-April 5. This marks the third time a Racer has won the award this season and the first weekly honor of her career for Gaskey.
The Morgantown, Kentucky native went 3-0 on the week with two solo shutouts and an ERA of 0.82. The senior struck out at least five batters in each game and fanned a season-high nine against EKU. She walked just six batters on the week to finish with a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 3.33:1. Gaskey also allowed just two hits to go for extra bases on the week and hit just one batter.
Gaskey and her teammates will step away from conference play on Wednesday to travel to Western Kentucky for a 4 p.m. doubleheader.
