Lawrence Receives Another Player of the Week Nod

Murray State's Tyler Lawrence received his third Player of the Week honor Tuesday as he was named the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) National Hitter of the Week for his performance last week against Evansville and Morehead State.
Lawrence set a program record and tied the OVC record for single-game home runs when he blasted four home runs in the Racers' 27-7 victory in the season finale Friday at Morehead State. Lawrence went 5-for-5 with 11 RBIs and five runs scored in the win. The 11 RBIs is just one shy of the OVC and MSU record of 12.
For the week, Lawrence batted .500 (9-for-18), scored eight runs, had an on-base percentage of .524 and slugged 1.222. With a hit in all four games during the week, Lawrence ends the season on a career-best 16-game hitting streak.
Lawrence was also named the Collegiate Baseball News Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week and ADIDAS OVC Player of the Week on Monday.
