Schwepker Announces 2015 Volleyball Schedule

Murray State Head Volleyball Coach David Schwepker has announced the Racers' 2015 schedule. The Racers will play in four non-conference tournaments and have 16 OVC matches, eight of which at Racer Arena.
MSU begins the season August 28 and 29 at the Western Carolina Invitational in Cullowhee, N.C. The Racers will face Fresno State in the season opener Aug. 28 at 3 p.m. and will face Western Carolina at 12:30 p.m. and Georgia State at 3:30 p.m. Aug. 29.
The Racers will open the month of September at the University of Washington in Seattle Sept. 4 and 5. MSU will face the Huskies at 9 p.m. central time on the fourth and will play Buffalo at 4 p.m. central the fifth.
The following weekend, the Racers head to Terre Haute, Ind., for the Indiana State Holiday Inn Classic where they will play three matches. MSU opens the tourney Sept. 11 against IPFW at 3 p.m. and on the 12th, will face Indiana State at noon and Eastern Michigan at 3:30.
MSU closes its non-conference slate Sept. 18 and 19 at the Winthrop Invitational in Rock Hill, S.C. The Racers face Davidson at 7 p.m. on the 18th and face Winthrop and West Virginia at 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., respectively the 19th.
The Racers begin their OVC Title defense with three consecutive road matches to open conference play. The Racers' OVC-opener will be Sept. 25 at SEMO in a 6:30 p.m. match. Sept. 26, MSU travels to face UT Martin at 2 p.m. and will then finish its road swing at Eastern Kentucky October 3 at 1 p.m.
The Racers' home opener will be Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. against Austin Peay, which begins a five-game homestand. Oct. 9 and 10 Eastern Illinois and SIUE comes to Racer Arena for 7 p.m. matches. The following weekend, Belmont comes to town for a 7 p.m. match Oct. 16, and MSU hosts Tennessee State Oct. 17 at 2 p.m.
After that, MSU hits the road for four straight matches beginning Oct. 23 at SIUE in a 7 p.m. match and Oct. 24 at Eastern Illinois in a 6 p.m. contest. The Racers close October at Jacksonville State Oct 30 at 7 p.m. and Oct. 31 at Tennessee Tech in a 2 p.m. match.
UT Martin and SEMO come to Murray November 6 and 7 for 7 p.m. and 2 p.m. matches, respectively before MSU hits the road for the final time, Nov. 11 at Austin Peay for a 7 p.m. tilt. Senior Night and the regular season finale will be held Nov. 13 in a 6 p.m. contest in Racer Arena against Morehead State.
The 2015 OVC Tournament will be held Nov. 19-21 on the campus of the regular season champions.
