Incoming Racers Having Solid Summer Seasons

Many incoming Racer baseball student-athletes are having successful seasons with their summer league teams this year.
Blake Clynes' four wins this season for the Dodgers of the STL Metro Collegiate League was second-best in the league, while his 1.50 ERA was the best in the STLMCBL. Clynes also went 2-0 with a 0.75 ERA during the Dodgers' playoff run this summer, striking out seven in 12 innings of work. Clynes' teammate with the Dodgers, Derrik Watson, compiled a 3-0 mark this summer with a 3.68 ERA in 22 innings of work. Clynes and Watson helped lead the Dodgers to the NABF World Series in Toledo, Ohio.
Cody Hall has had a solid summer in limited action for the Alton Pioneers of the Lewis and Clark League. In six games, Hall is hitting .292 and has collected six RBIs, has scored 11 runs and has stolen six bases for the Pioneers.
Brandon Gutzler is having a very good year with the Rebels of the STL Metro Collegiate League. Gutzler is hitting .329 this summer, with seven doubles, three home runs and 20 RBIs. Gutzler has also scored 15 runs.
Ramsey Scott, who was selected as an all-star,hit .250 for the St. Joseph Mustangs of the MINK League. Scott's 27 RBIs and five homers this season ranked second and third in the league, respectively. Scott has also drawn 17 walks and scored 20 runs this year and helped lead the Mustangs to the NBC World Series in Wichita, Kan.
Ryan Dills is having a tremendous summer on the mound for Dubois County of the Ohio Valley League. Dills has compiled a league-best 5-0 record and has 45 strikeouts in 38 innings of work, while recording a 2.37 ERA. Dills went 2-0 in the postseason this summer, pitching 16.1 innings of scoreless baseball while allowing just three hits and striking out 20 batters.
