Lawrence Leads Brazos Valley to TCL Title

Murray State catcher Tyler Lawrence helped lead the Brazos Valley Bombers to a Texas Collegiate League title earlier this week at Cellucor Field in Bryan, Texas.
Lawrence went 2-for-5 with a pair of RBIs and a run scored in the Bombers' 13-2 victory over Acadiana. Lawrence, who was the TCL All-Star Game MVP earlier this summer, hit .364 during the playoffs and scored four runs and collected four RBI in the three games. For the season, Lawrence was second in the league with a .367 batting average, hitting 10 doubles, a home run and drove in 16 RBIs while scoring 32 runs and drawing 22 walks.
Lawrence will be a junior this upcoming school year with the Racers, and was a Second Team All-OVC selection this past season after hitting .302 with a team-best 13 doubles, 12 home runs and 46 RBI.
