After Big Season, Jackson Keeps Moving Forward

After leading the OVC in tackles last season and finishing fourth in the nation, junior linebacker Jonathan Jackson could easily rest on his laurels, but that isn't how he is wired. Instead, the Mayfield product has been working harder than ever to not only eclipse last year's numbers but be a leader and help grow the defense as well.
Jackson featured in 11 games for Murray State last season averaging 12.2 per game for a total of 134. He registered double-digit tackles in eight of 11 contests and added 8.0 tackles-for-loss and 2.5 sacks.
Twice last season Jackson registered 19 tackles in a game with both coming against ranked opponents in Jacksonville State and Eastern Kentucky. With 67 solo tackles last season or 6.1 per game, he led the OVC in that category as well and finished eighth in the national rankings.
Despite monster numbers he put up in 2014, Jackson remains humble and knows that was last year and is in the past. Now, he is focused on making his team better, regardless of awards or accolades.
