2H Charge Leads To Exhibition Win Over Carleton

The Murray State Racers scored a 63-59 exhibition win in Ottawa, Canada Monday over the Carleton University Ravens.
Jeffery Moss scored 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting, while A.J. Patty scored 10 points off the bench.
Trailing 24-23 at the half, the Racers took their first lead of the game with 3:20 left in the third quarter on a layup by Kedrick Flomo. The Racers won the quarter 20-16 to lead 43-40. The bucket by Flomo set off a 16-4 run that had much to do with defensive stops and Moss jumpers. When Moss hit back-to-back threes at the start of the fourth quarter, the Racers had their largest lead of the game at 52-40 with 7:20 left.
Carleton, a national champion in Canada 11 of the last 13 seasons, came back and cut the MSU lead to four with less than a minute left. Patty's rebound and putback with 14.1 seconds remaining put the game away for the Racers.
Murray State is 1-1 on their tour of Canada with one game to play. The Racers travels to Montreal for a Wednesday 6 p.m. CT game at Concordia.
The Racers won the battle of the boards 37-33 and got six rebounds each from Wayne Langston and Justin Seymour.
Damarcus Croaker led the Racers with four assists.
MSU shot 45 percent in the second half on 16-of-29 shots, and stood at 38 percent for the game. Carleton was 38 percent for the game on 24-of-63 shots.
The game was one that saw lots of free play and few fouls. The Racers were 6-of-6 from the free throw line. There only 21 total fouls called in the contest.
