Racer Folke Eyes First Collegiate Victory

Murray State's Moa Folke heads into the final round of the Chris Banister Golf Classic with a chance to claim her first collegiate win.
At Silver Lakes Golf Club in Glencoe, Alabama, the Racer sophomore from Sweden carded an even-par 72 after a 73 in the first round. Her 145 total makes for a 3-shot lead on Fatima Cano of Troy who had scores of 75-72=147.
The Racers fired a 308 in the opening round Sunday, but slipped with a 313 Monday and fell from second into fourth place. Their 621 total has them chasing leader Troy at 614. Morehead State held second place at 619 and host Jacksonville State at 620.
Other MSU scores included Sydney Trimble who had scores of 73-82=155 for a spot in 17th place, while Abbie Stamper had a spot in 34th with scores of 79-81=160. Anna Moore and Sophie Hillier shared 45th place. Moore had rounds of 85-79=164, while Hillier scored 83-81=164.
Jane Watts was in eighth place in the field of 14 individuals and 55th place overall with scores of 82-85=167.
UAB and Southern Mississippi shared fifth place at 626. The rest of the field was made up of: Samford and Alabama State (630), South Alabama (635), Lipscomb (640), West Alabama (644) and Tennessee State (701).
Silver Lakes is part of the famed Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail. The 74 competitors at the event hosted by Jacksonville State will play the Mindbreaker Course and the Heartbreaker Course. Both courses play a bit more than 6,100 yards.
