The Murray State men's golf team finished play at the SIUE Derek Dolenc Invitational in Madison, Illinois, at Gateway National Golf Club.

Jared Gosser led the Racer effort with a spot in 14^th place after scores of 72-71-71=214. It was his best 54-hole finish (not at MSU's home course) since 2013 when he had a 213 at the Skyhawk Classic.

Other MSU finishes included Gabe Wheeler with scores of 73-72-75=220 which was good for a 35^th place finish, while Preston French placed 40^th with rounds of 77-68-76=221. Brock Simmons finished in 48^th place with scores of 75-74-73=222. Matthew Zakutney placed 54^th with scores of 73-74-76=223.

Daniel Taylor was first in the field of 11 individuals and 30th overall with scores of 74-74-71=148. His 1-under-par 71 in the final round was his low as a Racer. Duncan McCormick had scores of 76-73-71=220 and was in third among the individuals and 35th overall.

The Racers finished 11^th place after rounds of 293-285-295=873.

Host SIUE was the winner 844. Belmont (849), UT Martin (852), Missouri State (854) and South Dakota (557) made up the top-5.

The Racers return to action at the Skyhawk Invitational (Oct. 5-6) in Buchanan, Tennessee at Paris Landing State Park.
