McGraw Named OVC Co-Newcomer of the Week

Freshman running back Mareio McGraw has been named as the adidas® OVC Football Co-Newcomer of the Week, along with EIU quarterback Mitch Kimble, the league announced Sunday.
The Nashville, Tennessee native rushed for a game-high 110 yards Saturday against UT Martin, marking the first time a Racer has tallied 100-plus yards on the ground this season. It also marks the first 100-yard plus rushing effort by a MSU true freshman since Duane Brady racked up 114 yards against Austin Peay in 2010. McGraw finished the game averaging 11.0 yards per carry, thanks in large part to his 65-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, his lone score of the game.
McGraw and the rest of the Racers will return to action Saturday when they travel to Charleston, Illinois to take on Kimble and his 18th-ranked Panthers. Kickoff from O'Brien Field is scheduled for 1 p.m.
