Racers & Holmslykke Go Low At Dalhousie

The Murray State women's golf team carries a six-shot lead into Tuesday's final round of the Missouri Valley Conference Preview at Dalhousie Golf Club in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

The Racers posted scores of 290-291=581 and lead UMKC who had scores of 292-295=587.

Linette Holmslykke led the Racers with scores of 70-73 for a 1-under-par 143 total, while Moa Folke and Sydney Trimble (Kelley) shared sixth place. Trimble had rounds of 70-76=146, while Folke posted rounds of 74-72=146. Anna Moore moved from 21st place to 10th with scores of 76-71=147, while Lucila Puente Rodriguez de Austria was in 54th place with scores of 83-75=158.

Raeysha Surendran and Jane Watts are playing the event as individuals and each had a share of 34th place. Surendran had scores of 85-69=154 with her second round the low round of the day for MSU. Watts had scores of 75-79=154.
Watts scored her first hole-in-one on the par-3 No. 5 hole at Dalhousie. She struck the amazing shot with a 9-iron from 134 yards.

The Racers are one of four teams invited to play in the Missouri Valley Conference Preview. The 14-team event features every team from the MVC, plus the Racers and Austin Peay of the Ohio Valley Conference. Arkansas State and UMKC are two more non-MVC schools playing in the event where the MVC stages its championship in April.

Wichita State's Taryn Torgerson is the leader after rounds of 67-74=141.

Dalhousie GC is playing to a par-72 and 6,214 yards.
