Murray State senior quarterback KD Humphries will end October just as he started the month, by being named as the adidas® OVC Football Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Sunday.
Humphries helped the Racers engineer their second consecutive victory over a nationally ranked opponent Saturday, as Murray State defeated No. 25 Tennessee State, 38-31. The Montgomery, Alabama native tied his season high for touchdown passes with five, while completing 27 of 35 passes for 398 yards. The redshirt senior completed passes to 10 different receivers on the day and did not throw an interception. He finished the game with six passes of 25 yards or more and had longs of 52 and 75, both of which went for touchdowns.
This is the second weekly honor of the season for Humphries and the fourth consecutive weekly honor for a Racer. Humphries and the rest of the Racers will travel to Eastern Kentucky Saturday in search of their third consecutive win and fourth in five games. Kickoff from Roy Kidd Stadium in Richmond is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET/Noon CT.
