Racers Look For Three In A Row At Southern Miss

The Murray State women's golf team goes for its third-straight win Monday and Tuesday when they compete in the Golden Eagle Jam at Hattiesburg Country Club in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

The Racers enter the 54-hole event having won back-to-back tournaments in Alabama and Missouri. The Racers took the championship of Jacksonville State's Chris Banister Classic (Sept. 27) with a program-record total of
887. The Racers tied the marks from 2012 (Ocala, Fla.) and 2013 at the Drake Creek Classic. Last week, the Racers took the title of the Missouri Valley Preview in Cape Girardeau, Mo., with a score of 871 that set the record 16 shots lower.

2015 OVC champion Moa Folke leads the Racers into the Golden Eagle Jam after a medalist title and a fifth-place finish in the two Racer wins. She'll be joined by Sydney Trimble, Linette Holmslykke (second last week at the MVC Preview), Lucila Puente Rodriguez de Austria and Anna Moore (seventh last week).

The Southern Miss event calls for 36 holes of play Monday with the final round on Tuesday and an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start each day. The Hattiesburg Country Club course plays 6,228 yards and to a par-72.

The Racers are joined at the USM event by fellow Ohio Valley Conference member Tennessee Tech. Other visiting squads include: McNeese State, Louisiana-Monroe, Central Arkansas, UAB, Lipscomb and West Florida.
