Racer Golf Welcomes Cardwell, Coombs & Eaton

Murray State men's golf coach Eddie Hunt announced his signing class of 2017 with the addition of three student-athletes that will join the Racers in the fall as freshmen.
Golfers signing with Murray State include Connor Coombs (Muhlenberg County High School, Central City, Ky.), Rhett Cardwell (Union County High School, Morganfield, Ky.) and Quinn Eaton (Marshall County High School, Benton, Ky.).
"We're excited to bring Connor, Rhett and Quinn into the Racer family," Coach Hunt said. "This is a talented group and they're all high-character young men. I expect them to have great careers both on the course and off it." Â
Rhett Cardwell - Union County High School - Morganfield, Ky.
From Union County High School, Cardwell posted an eighth place and 11th place finish at the KHSAA State Tournament in his junior and senior seasons. In 2016, he was named Second Team All-State.
In 2015, he won the Franklin County Flyer Classic with a 67 and placed second at the Kentucky Invitational Tournament (KIT) with a 68. He also qualified for the Kentucky Open in 2015.
Connor Coombs - Muhlenberg County High School - Central City, Ky.
Coombs was a Kentucky High School Athletics Association All-State First Team selection in the fall of 2016 out of Muhlenberg County. He was also named the Region-2 Player of the Year after he had nine top-5 finishes as a senior.
He fired a 66 to win the Daviess County Invitational and had a low round of 61 at Central City Country Club.
Quinn Eaton - Marshall County High School - Benton, Ky.
Quinn Eaton qualified for the Kentucky State Tournament out of Marshall County High school as a junior after winning the Region-1 Tournament with a 67.
As a senior, he won the Paducah Tilghman Invitational at Paxton Park with a 67 and placed third at the Ballard County Invitational with a 69 at Ballard Country Club
