Gosser Jumps To Lead - Racers Lead By 10 Shots

The Murray State men's golf squad has a 10-shot lead heading into Tuesday's final round of the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate in Sevierville, Tennessee.
The Racers' 36 hole totals of 282-293=575 is ahead of second place Western Kentucky who carded scores of 288-297=585.
Jared Gosser jumped from fourth place into the lead with a career-low 5-under-par 67 that followed his 69 in the first round. Gosser's 136 total puts him a spot to win for the first time in his MSU career. Gosser leads teammate Preston French by six shots. French had a 67 in round one and scored 75 in round two for a 142 total.
Other Racer scores on the Sevierville Golf Club River Course included Brock Simmons in 19th place with rounds of 70-78=148 and Matthew Zakutney in 26th place with rounds of 75-73=149. Duncan McCormick was in 62nd place with scores of 78-80=158.
The rest of the top-10 teams were made up by Oakland (589), Southern Illinois (594), Austin Peay (596), Tennessee Tech (596), Wright State (597), Carson-Newman (600), Jacksonville State (601), Samford (608), Evansville (611) and Tennessee State (619).
Gabe Wheeler is playing the event for the Racers as an individual and was in 55th place after scores of 77-79=156.
The River Course will be used for the entire 54 holes and is playing to a par of 72 and 6,972 yards.
Monday's second round begins with a 10 a.m. Eastern Time start.
The Racers are looking for their second win this season following their season opening victory at the MSU Invitational at Miller Memorial in September. If MSU can hang on, it will be Coach Eddie Hunt's 33rd win in his 14 seasons with the Racers.
