Racers & Folke Lead At Weaver Invitational

The Murray State women's golf team carries a five-shot lead into the final round of the Jan Weaver Invitational at Miller Memorial Golf Course in Murray, Ky.
On an amazingly cold and blustery day, the Racers carded team scores of 309 and 310 for a 619 total, just ahead of Morehead State at 312-312=624 and Xavier 317-309=626.
Moa Folke, this week's Ohio Valley Conference Co-Golfer of the Week, leads the field of 75 players after scores of 75-76=151. Other Racer scores and positions included Anna Moore with a spot in 11th place with scores of 76-80=156 and Sydney Trimble in 14th place after scores of 79-78=157. Jacklyn Van Meter was in 38th place with rounds of 88-76=164 and Abbie Stamper was in 42nd place with rounds of 79-86=165.
The Racers have three in the field as individuals. Jane Watts was in seventh place after scores of 77-84=161, while Sophie Hiller had scores of 84-79=163 for a spot in 33rd place. Nadine Innes was in 56th place after scores of 91-81=172.
Southern Illinois was in fourth place at 632, while Austin Peay held down fifth place with a 635. Akron was in sixth place at 640 and Tennessee Tech's 641 earned a seventh place standing. The rest of the field included: Alabama State (646), Fairleigh Dickinson (649), Belmont (653), Omaha (669) and Tennessee State (712).
Folke starts the final round in the medalist lead by one shot over Austin Peay's Jessica Cathey at 152.
Saturday's final round begins with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
