First Pitch
The Racers play their final regular season series of 2016 with a three-game set against Morehead State. MSU enters the weekend one game back of the sixth and final spot in the OVC Tournament next week. Saturday will be senior day at MSU as six Racers will be playing their final games at Reagan Field.

Inside the Series
The Racers are 25-17-1 all-time at home against the Eagles and won 2-of-3 the last time the two played at Reagan Field back in 2014. Morehead is 9-18 in true road contests this season. In last season's finale, the Racers blasted their way to a 27-7 victory. Tyler Lawrence hit four home runs and had 11 RBIs in the victory.

Scouting Morehead State
The Eagles have one of the most potent offenses in the league and in the country as they have eight players hitting well above .300 on the season. Will Schneider leads the team (minimum 100 at-bats) with a .361 average, 10 home runs and 54 RBIs and is second with 16 doubles. Alex Stephens leads the Eagles with 17 doubles, 45 runs scored and 11 steals in 2016. The Eagles lead the OVC with a .320 batting average and 920 total bases. They are also second in the league with 415 runs scored.

Morehead State has a team ERA of 4.60 and is led by reliever Cable Wright's 2.30 ERA in a teamhigh 25 appearances. Starter Matt Anderson has posted an 8-2 record on the year and an ERA of 2.69 while closer Tyler Keele has a 2.76 ERA and seven saves in 2016. Anderson and fellow starter Aaron Leasher are second and fourth, respectively in the conference with 118 and 106 strikeouts on the year.

Morehead is the defending OVC Tournament champions and is led by fourthyear head coach Mike McGuire.

Probable Pitching Matchups
Thursday: Ryan Dills (RHP) (4-3, 5.47 ERA) vs. Matt Anderson (RHP) (8-2, 2.69 ERA)
Friday: Austin Dubsky (RHP) (5-4, 4.96 ERA) vs. Aaron Leasher (LHP) (5-3, 4.10 ERA)
Saturday: Brad Boegel (RHP) (1-3, 6.96 ERA) vs. Luke Humphreys (RHP) (5-4, 5.28 ERA)

Playing for the Postseason
Entering this final weekend of the regular season, the Racers are a game behind Tennessee Tech for sixth-place in the OVC standings. The top six teams reach the OVC Tournament next week in Jackson, Tenn. The Racers are currently tied for seventh in the league with Eastern Kentucky. MSU owns the tiebreaker over the Golden Eagles and Colonels by virtue of their series victories against the two. In the event of a three-way tie between the schools, the Racers would also get the final spot by way of their composite record compared to the other two schools. In other four-way tie scenarios involving various schools, MSU will earn the tiebreaker as well.
