Newlywed Kelley Wins Florence Paxton Memorial

Murray State's Sydney Kelley claimed her second Florence Paxton Memorial Ladies Golf Tournament championship on Tuesday.

The event sponsored by the Paducah Sun saw Kelley birdie the last two holes to get the win by two shots.

Kelley posted scores of 71-70–141 to become the 13^th player, since the event was first played in 1954, to win multiple titles. She won the Paxton title for the first time in 2013.

The first round was played at Paxton Park Golf Course and the final round at Rolling Hills Country Club, both courses are in Paducah.

A senior in the fall with the Racers, Kelley (maiden name Trimble) is a newlywed having married former Murray State football player Drew Kelley on May 15.

The Racers begin the fall portion of the 2016-17 season at the Drake Creek Invitational (Sept. 12-13) in Ledbetter, Ky.
