Volleyball Receives AVCA Team Academic Award

The Murray State volleyball team has received the American Volleyball Coaches Association's (AVCA) Team Academic Award for academic excellence announced Monday by the AVCA.
The award, which began in the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the 2015-16 school year. Teams maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher received the honor. The organization honored a record 762 teams nationwide this year.
As a team, the Racers had nine student-athletes named to the OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll (3.25 GPA or better) and had three with a perfect 4.0 GPA this past academic year.
MSU opens its 2016 season Aug. 28 when it travels to the IPFW Invitational.
