Eight Games On Tap For Softball In Fall

The Murray State softball team will play eight game this fall, including six at Racer Field, as part of its annual non-championship segment of its season.
"I'm excited another fall season is getting underway," said fifth-year head coach Kara Amundson. "The players have already been working hard in the weight room and on some different skills to make us a competitive team come spring. We are also looking forward to our games this fall, starting at SIU against two solid teams. We are looking forward to hosting the remaining games against both familiar and new opponents and giving our fans a small taste for what is to come from Racer Softball this spring."
The Racers will kick-off the fall at the 2016 Saluki Round Robin II on September 18 with games against Missouri-St. Louis and host Southern Illinois in Carbondale. MSU will then return to action the following weekend on September 25 with a doubleheader against Division II Union (TN) in Murray. On October 15, the Racers will host NAIA-member Asbury in a doubleheader, before closing out the fall with two games against Dyersburg State CC on October 21 at Racer Field.
