Watts Leads Racers After Drake Creek Day One

Round 2 Results
Murray State women's golf team had a spot in second place at the Drake Creek Invitational in Ledbetter, Kentucky.
The host Racers' gold squad carded scores of 299-303=602 and trailed first place Western Kentucky who had rounds of 294-300=594. MSU's blue squad had scores of 309-305=614 and had a spot in sixth in the field of 12 teams.
Leading the way for the Racers' gold team was Jane Watts who had a share of a four-way tie for first place after scores of 72-74=146. Watts, a sophomore, was tied with Western's Mary Joiner and Georgina Blackman and Samantha Griffith of Lipscomb. Other scores from the gold team included Lucila Puente Rodriguez de Austria in sixth place with scores of 76-72=148 and Raeysha Surendean in 11th place with scores of 75-76=151. Leah Rose Judd was in 36th place with rounds of 76-82=158 and Nadine Innes held down 44th place with scores of 80-81=161.
The top player for the MSU blue squad was Sydney (Trimble) Kelley in 11th place with scores of 81-70=151 and Anna Moore in 15th place with scores of 77-75=152. Earlena Sheets was in 27th place with scores of 76-80=156 and Linette Holmslykke had 36th place with scores of 78-80=158. Moa Folke had scores of 78-84=162 and was in 47th place.
The rest of the field included Southern Illinois and Akron (610) in third place, followed by Austin Peay (612) in fifth place. After the Murray State blue team, Belmont (616), Lipscomb (623), Fort Wayne (658) North Carolina Tech (669), Tennessee State (670) and Eastern Illinois (671) made up the rest of the field.
