Murray State baseball head coach Kevin Moulder has announced the hiring of Adam Lairamore as a volunteer assistant coach with the Racers in 2016-17. Prior to MSU, Lairamore spent the previous three seasons at Lindsey Wilson College.
"I am excited about the addition of coach Lairamore to our staff," said Moulder.
"He has been very successful at each of his stops during his coaching career, including a World Series appearance last season. He brings a lot of versatility as he has coached a lot of areas inside the game but we are looking forward to him mainly working with our hitters and outfielders."
At Lindsey Wilson, Lairamore helped lead the Blue Raiders to a share of the Mid-South Conference regular season championship and an at-large bid to the NAIA Baseball Opening Round. LWC advanced to the 2016 NAIA World Series for the second consecutive season. Lairamore helped coach the team to a program-best No. 6 ranking and also coached a pair of players that made the NAIA World Series All-Tournament Team - the first 2 in program history.
In 2015 he helped guide the Blue Raiders to their first appearance at the NAIA Baseball World Series in and a final ranking of 10th in the nation. Lindsey Wilson also captured the Mid-South Conference Tournament title for just the second time in program history that season.
During his time with the Blue Raiders, Lairamore coached ten First Team All-MSC selections, five Second Team All-MSC members and a pair of NAIA All-Americans.
Lairamore also coached the Front Royal Cardinals of the Valley Baseball League in 2015, a collegiate summer wood bat league. With the Cardinals, he coached players from all levels of collegiate competition.
Prior to joining Lindsey Wilson, Lairamore was an assistant coach at Columbia State Community College for two years, where he worked with catchers and was in charge of hitting instruction.
Lairamore was also an assistant coach for the Middle Tennessee Outlaws, an amateur baseball organization, and also spent five years as a student assistant coach at his alma mater, Middle Tennessee State University. While at MTSU, he was part of the 2009 Sun Belt Conference Championship team that participated in the NCAA Tournament Louisville Regional.
Lairamore graduated from MTSU in 2011 with a degree in physical education.
