Miller Named OVC NewComer Of The Week

Murray State's Terrell Miller, Jr., was named Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week for a third time this season after a vote by the league's sports information directors.
The OVC honor for Miller is his third this season and coupled with the five awards that Jonathan Stark won, the Racers' total of OVC Newcomer of the Week awards is now eight.
Miller, a junior from Jacksonville, Fla., via Southwest Mississippi Junior College, had a big week as the Racers split home games with Southeast Missouri and UT Martin. Miller scored a career-high 30 points against the Skyhawks Saturday. For the week, he averaged 22.5 points per game and 7.0 rebounds. He hit 60 percent from the field (15-of-25) and 44 percent from the 3-point line (4-of-9) and 84 percent from the free throw line (11-of-13).
Heading into the first week of February, Miller ranks ninth in OVC scoring (15.7ppg), sixth in rebounding (8.2rpg) and 12th in field goal percentage (.502).
Miller and the Racers host the Belmont Bruins at 8 p.m. at the CFSB Center in a game that will be televised by ESPNU.
