Racers Carry Lead Into Final Round Of ULM Bayou Event

The Murray State women's golf squad takes the lead into the ULM Fred Marx Invitational in Monroe, Louisiana where they'll try to bring home the title in Tuesday's final round at Bayou DeSiard Country Club.

The Racers posted scores of 303-305-608 in Monday's play to best host Louisiana-Monroe who carded scores of 311-310=621. The rest of the top-5 included Lamar (629), South Alabama (634) and Austin Peay (640).
All of Murray State players were sitting in the top-10 after 36 holes with three of them having a share of fourth place. Moa Folke posted scores of 76-76=152, while Linette Holmslykke had scores of 77-75=152 and Jane Watts posted rounds of 74-78=152 to share fourth place. Lucila Puente Rodriguez de Austria and Belen Amoros Benet had a share of seventh place. Puente Rodriguez posted rounds of 76-79=155, while Amoros Benet had rounds of 79-76=155. Murray State had to make a change in the starting lineup when Anna Moore withdraw because of injury, leaving Amoros Benet to take her spot in the starting five.
Murray State's Nadine Innes is playing the event as an individual and was in 54th place on scores of 85-86=171.
Lamar's Elodie Chapelet was the medalist leader on scores of 77-70=147.
The rest of the field was made up by UT Arlington (645) in sixth place and McNeese State (647), Incarnate Word (651), Stephen F. Austin (662), Alcorn State (684), Murray State CC (709) and Prairie View A&M (746).
The final round of the ULM event is at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday with a shotgun start.
