Austin Knight Named OVC Golfer of the Week

Murray State sophomore Austin Knight is the Racers' first Ohio Valley Conference Men's Golfer of the Week as announced by the league office in Brentwood, Tennessee.

Knight, out of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, took medalist honors at the Austin Peay Intercollegiate held at GreyStone Golf Club in Dickson, Tenn. He carded rounds of 73-67-70 to finish at 210 (-6) and top the field of 74 which included seven OVC teams. Knight became the first Murray State player to win a medalist crown since March 2016 when Preston French took the title at the Tennessee Tech event. Knight's 67 (-5) was the lowest in relation to par of his collegiate career.

Knight is currently tied for eighth in the OVC with a 72.6 stroke average.
