The Murray State Gold Team used a three-run third and a pair of runs in the fourth inning to rally for a 6-4 victory in game four of the Racers' Fall World Series Tuesday at Reagan Field to win the series 3-1 over the Navy.
CJ Bush went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a pair of runs in the victory while Bryan Chilton also notched a pair of ribbies for the Gold. Kyle Stevens had a monster game in a losing effort for the Navy, going 3-for-4 with a home run and driving in all four of the Navy runs.
Tyler Horsley picked up the win for the Gold while Blake Clynes recorded the save. Clynes struck-out four batters in two innings of relief work.
For his efforts, Clynes earned fall Cy Young honors after pitching a team-best 8.2 innings and appearing in three games. Clynes allowed just two earned runs during the series and recorded 10 strikeouts and just one walk.
Ryan Perkins and Jaron Robinson took home co-MVP honors. Perkins hit .455 (5-for-11) for the series and had two homers, two RBIs and scored six runs while Robinson went 5-for-10, had a pair of doubles, drove in two runs and scored four times.
The Racers close the fall Friday with another scrimmage at Reagan Field beginning at 6:30 p.m., as a part of the Homecoming festivities.
