Racers Place 10th At Bettie Lou Evans Invitational

Final Results
The Murray State women's golf squad brought home a 10th place finish Saturday at the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational at the University Club of Kentucky in Lexington.

The Racers finished the event with scores of 303 in the morning and 313 in the afternoon for a 54-hole total of 924. MSU shot a 308 in Friday's first round. MSU started the day in 11th place and rose as high as eighth place before coming back to a 10th place finish. MSU finished five shots clear of 11th place Western Kentucky (929) and two shots from ninth place Bradley (922).

Sophomore Lucila Puente Rodriguez de Austria led the Racers with a spot in 25th place on scores of 76-70-79=225, while Moa Folke and Jane Watts placed 54th. Folke had rounds of 75-83-76=234 and Watts 81-73-80=234. Raeysha Surendran had rounds of 79-77-79=235 and earned a spot in 59th place, while Linette Holmslykke placed 69th on scores of 78-83-79=240.

MSU's Anna Moore had scores of 70-75-83=238 and was ninth in the field of 16 individuals in the event and 64th place overall.

Notre Dame carded an event record 872 to win the title, with Wisconsin (876), Penn State (880), Kentucky (881) and Illinois (889) making up the top-5.

Kentucky's Grace Rose and Notre Dame's Emma Albrecht shared the individual title at 5-under-par 211.Â

The Big Blue Course played to a par-72 and a length of 6,221 yards for the field of 96 players.

The Racers have two events to finish the fall portion of the 2017-18 season. They'll compete at the Fred Marx Invitational (Oct. 16-17) at Bayou Desiard Country Club in Monroe, Louisiana and at the Cardinal Cup (Oct. 21-22) at the University of Louisville Golf Club in Simpsonville, Ky.
