Racer Men Tabbed Fourth In OVC Golf Poll

The Murray State men's golf team was selected fourth in the Ohio Valley Conference Preseason Poll that was released by the league after a vote of the head coaches.
The Racers received votes totaling 62 points, just ahead of fifth place SIUE (61 points) and just behind third place UT Martin (80 points) Eastern Kentucky received 10 first place votes as the favorite, with Jacksonville State and UT Martin making up the top-3.
MSU has five events this spring leading up to the OVC Championship (April 24-26) at The Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at The Shoals in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. The Racers' first challenge out of the gate is the Snowman Getaway hosted by Loyola in Goodyear, Arizona at Palm Valley Golf Club.
The Racers finished the fall season with three-straight top-5 finishes.
The Racers' only senior is Matthew Zakutney. He's currently MSU's top player in the league. He ranks 17th in the OVC with a scoring average of 73.9.
