Folke Named OVC Golfer Of The Week

Murray State junior Moa Folke was named Ohio Valley Conference Golfer of the Week Wednesday by the league office in Brentwood, Tenn.

Folke, from Tranas, Sweden, had a second-place showing over the weekend at the Spring Citrus Challenge in Sorrento, Florida, at Red Tail Golf Club. She carded rounds of 78-67-71 to finish even-par 216, as she played the last 36 holes 6-under-par. Her 67 in the second round is second all-time at Murray State behind only the 66 that Delaney Howson recorded in 2013 at Clarksville (TN) Country Club.

This is the third time Folke has earned the OVC weekly honor following Sept. 28 and Oct. 12.

The Racers, who won the event at Red Tail by 11 shots, start play Sunday at the John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate at Eagle's Landing Country Club in Stockbridge, Georgia.
