Edwards & Winder Pace Racers In OVC Championship

The Murray State men's golf team ended round two right where they were started, with a spot in eighth place in the 2017 Ohio Valley Conference Championship at The Shoals Golf Club in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.

Playing the Fighting Joe course at The Shoals, the Racers have posted scores of 298-294=592, which earned them a spot in eighth place.

Avery Edwards and Matthew Winder shared 22nd place to lead the Racers as the team heads into Wednesday's final round. Edwards had scores of 74-73=147 and Winder posted scores of 75-72=147. Matthew Zakutney was in 31st place on rounds of 73-77=150 and Austin Knight was in 38th place after scores of 80-72=152. Gabe Wheeler was in 49th place with scores of 76-83=159.

At the end of 36 holes, Eastern Kentucky surged to the front with scores of 286-283=569, ahead of first round leader SIUE at 571, while Tennessee Tech was in third 574 and Jacksonville State was in fourth at 577. The rest of the field included UT Martin (580), Austin Peay (588), Morehead State (590), Murray State (592), Tennessee State (609), Belmont (610) and Eastern Illinois (641).
