Murray State's Jack Hranec
and Kipp Moore
have been selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team on Thursday by the organization. They become the first Racers since Paul Ritzheimer in 2013 to receive the honor. In order to qualify, the student-athlete must have a minimum of 3.30 cumulative GPA and be a starter or significant contributor.
Hranec, who has a 3.60 GPA in advertising, is third on the Racers with a .324 batting average and has six home runs and 28 RBIs at the plate. On the mound, Hranec has made 11 appearances and has recorded three victories on the season.
Moore has a 3.86 GPA and is majoring in criminal justice. Moore is hitting .292 on the season and has 12 doubles, five homers and 25 RBIs. He is also second on the team with 10 stolen bases and has started in 44-of-45 games this year.
The duo is now eligible to be named to one of three CoSIDA Academic All-American teams, which will be announced May 17.
