Withers Weekly OVC Offensive Honor

For the third time in her career, senior Harriet Withers was named as an adidas® OVC Player of Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
Withers was instrumental in the 2-0 victory over Marshall Sunday in the opening game of the 2017 season for the Racers. Withers was able to tuck a hard shot in the upper right corner of the goal to give the Racers a well-deserved first goal at the 51 minute mark. Her second goal came at the 81 minute mark, where she took a long pass and beat the goalkeeper, walking in her second goal.
"It's well deserved, she's in her senior year and has a lot of attention on her", commented assistant coach Matt Lodge. "She's looked tough this preseason, and with the addition of Miyah Watford, Rebecca Kubin and the other freshman, everyone is starting to push her on."
On Friday, the Racers return to action when they travel to Troy, followed by a Sunday matchup at South Alabama.
