The Murray State women's golf team will carry the lead into Tuesday's final round at the Chris Banister Golf Classic At Silver Lakes Golf Course in Glencoe, Alabama.

After posting the best score in the 23 years of the event on Sunday with a 287, the Racers carded a 304 in Monday's second round for a 36-hole mark of 591. The Racers hold a 16-shot lead over host Jacksonville State (305-302=607). Morehead State is in third place at 307, while UAB (617) and Limestone (619) make up the rest of the top-5.

As the lead squad, the Racers have a quartet in the top-10 including Lucila Puente Rodriguez de Austria who has a spot in fourth place after rounds of 67-79=146, while Moa Folke is in fifth place on scores of 76-72=148. Linette Holmslykke has scores of 74-75=149 and is in seventh place. Jane Watts is in ninth place with rounds of 70-80=150. Raeshya Surendran was in 14th place on rounds of 76-78=154.

MSU's Anna Moore and Belen Amoros Benet are in the event as individuals. Moore is in seventh place after scores of 75-74=149, while Benet is in 39th place on scores of 77-89=166.
On a very hot day in Alabama, the Silver Lakes course was a handful for the field compared to an easier round one. The Racers were led by Folke who had the low round of the day with an even par 72.

The rest of the field includes sixth place Tennessee Tech (623), Alabama State (627), Jacksonville State B (627) and Tennessee State (704).

The final round of the event begins at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday with teams playing from the first and 10th tees.
