Racers & Holmslykke In 2nd At APSU Intercollegiate

The Murray State women's golf team tries to overcome a four-shot deficit Tuesday in the final round of the F&M Bank Austin Peay Intercollegiate at Clarksville Country Club in Clarksville, Tennessee.

MSU carded scores of 299-304=603 in the opening day of play, while leader Louisiana-Monroe had scores of 300-299=599. The rest of the top-5 included Austin Peay (610), Findlay (620) and Belmont (631).

Already with a pair of runner-up finishes in the first two events of the season, Racer senior Linette Holmslykke is again vying for a title. Monday she carded scores of 72-75=147 and will try to chase down ULM's Jahaanvie Walia who leads by four shots after rounds of 71-72=143.

MSU's Jane Watts sits in seventh place after scores of 74-76=150, while Lucila Puente Rodriguez de Austria was in 10^th place on scores of 78-74=152. Sarah McDowell was in 19^th place after rounds of 76-79=155 and Raeysha Surendran was in 21^st place on scores of 76-79=156.

MSU's Anna Moore and Taylor Church are in the event as individuals. Moore was in eighth place after scores of 75-76=151 and Church was in 32^nd place after scores of 83-77=160.

The Racers are making their first appearance in the APSU event since 2015 and trying for their fourth title after taking the championship in 2003, 2010 and 2011.

Tuesday's final round begins at 8:30 a.m.

Clarksville CC is a par-72 layout and has a length of 6,038 yards.
