Holmslykke Named OVC Golfer Of The Week

Murray State senior Linette Holmslykke was named Ohio Valley Conference Female Golfer of the Week for the third time this fall as announced by the league office in Brentwood, Tennessee.

A senior from Vejle, Denmark, Holmslykke led the Racers into a level of difficulty test similar to an NCAA Regional at the Cardinal Cup at the University of Louisville Golf Club in Simpsonville, Kentucky. Playing against a solid field of teams, the senior carded rounds of 75-73-73 to finish 12^th place at 221 (+5) playing on a course that played over 6,300 yards. Her second round 72 was impressive in bad weather conditions.

Through 14 rounds this year, Holmslykke leads the OVC with a 72.6 stroke average.

Holmslykke and the Racers now wait for spring and a chance to make history with a third-straight OVC Tournament title (April 15-17) at The Shoals Golf Club - Schoolmaster Course in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. MSU opens the spring season at the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate (Feb. 24-26) at the Osprey Point and Oak Point course at the Kiawah Island Resort.
