Senior Barbara Schläpfer
has been selected as the Lapua/SK Spotlight Performance for the month of October.
The Switzerland native has paced the Racers so far the season and leads them in all three categories. She currently boasts a smallbore average of 587.0, an air rifle average of 595.0 and aggregate average of 1181.7. Schläpfer currently leads the nation in smallbore average, is second in aggregate average and is sixth in smallbore average. The senior shot her best match of the year against Kentucky and Morehead State when she fired a season high of 588 in air rifle and turned in career bests in air rifle at 597 and aggregate at 1185.
"I am proud of Barbara and what she has achieved so far this season," said head coach Alan Lollar
. "She trained very hard over the summer and it has paid dividends. She came into this season and led us out of the gates and, in addition, continues to be a leader for us, both on and off the range."
Schläpfer and the rest of the Racers return to the Pat Spurgin Rifle Range in Murray this Saturday to host OVC foes Jacksonville State and UT Martin.
