Holmslykke & Racers Push For Lead At Panther Intercollegiate

The Murray State women's golf team will need a come from behind effort Tuesday to overcome a four-shot deficit in the final round of the 25th John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate at Eagles' Landing Country Club in Stockbridge, Ga.

The Racers carded a 296 in Monday's second round and with their 302 team score from Sunday, the Racers' 598 total is four shots off the pace being set by Jacksonville who has a 36-hole total of 594. South Alabama (608), Eastern Kentucky (615) and host Georgia State and Tulsa (616) rounded out the top-6 of the 17-team field.

Murray State's Linette Holmslykke made the big move with a second round 2-under-par 70 to move from 14th to third place in the field of 87 players. Her 146 total is only two shots off the lead, being set by South Alabama's Siti Sharri (72-72=144). Holmslykke was six shots better today than her first round 76.

It's no surprise that the Racers are pushing for the victory, they've got four players in the top-15 including Moa Folke in sixth place after scores of 75-74=149. Lucila Puente Rodriguez de Austria and Anna Moore share 14th place. Puente Rodriguez had posted scores of 77-75=152 and Moore 74-78=152. Raeshya Surendran was in 49th place after improving six shots in round two with a 77.

Nadine Innes is in the event for the Racers as an individual and remains the low solo player amongst five in the event and she's 30th place after scores of 79-77=156.

The final round in Stockbridge is an 8 a.m. shotgun start. The Racers are paired with JU and USA.
