Racer Fans Invited To NCAA Selection Sunday at CFSB Center
3/6/2018 12:47:00 PM | Men's Basketball
The Murray State Racers are in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament for the first time since 2012 and MSU Athletics is inviting all of Racer Nation to be part of the fun on Selection Sunday, March 11.
All fans can come out to the CFSB Center in Murray, Kentucky Sunday when the doors open at 3:30 p.m. Please enter through Lower/Upper Level 'A.' Admission is Free.
A live pre-selection show on Froggy 103.7 FM (Froggy103.com) will begin at 4 p.m. and features on-stage interviews with Racer coach Matt McMahon and many of the Murray State players. There will be feature videos that highlight the season and the journey to the tourney MSU Basketball has been on since the season began 31 games ago.
At 5 p.m., the NCAA Tournament field will be revealed and the Racers will find out their seeding, opponent and game location. Fans can watch the selections on the new video boards right there in the CFSB Center. In addition, limited concessions (hot dogs, popcorn, candy & soda) will be sold throughout the night.
The team will be available to mingle with fans, take photos and give autographs before and after the selection show. One of the big items every Racer fan will want to get Sunday is a championship t-shirt, on sale for only $10. The t-shirts are limited and will be sold on a first come-first serve basis.
The 2017-18 addition of Racer Basketball has given us amazing thrills this season and maybe there are a few thrills still left to see. Murray State (26-5) won its 25th Ohio Valley Conference regular season title in going 16-2 and last week won their 16th OVC Tournament championship with wins over Jacksonville State and Belmont to reach the NCAA Tournament. In the process, the Racers pushed their winning streak to 13 and they'll enter the NCAA Tournament with the nation's longest. The Racers have an outstanding team that is led by OVC Player of the Year Jonathan Stark and All-OVC selections Terrell Miller, Jr., and Ja Morant.
The pre-selection show will also be streamed on Facebook Live.
