OVC Tabs Folke & Knight For Weekly Awards

Murray State's Moa Folke and Austin Knight were named Co-Golfer of the Week by the Ohio Valley Conference.

Folke, a senior from Tranas, Sweden placed second in a field of 92 at the Jan Weaver Invitational, which was cut short by 18 holes due to cold weather. The reigning OVC Golfer of the Year had rounds of 67-78 to finish at 145 (+1), which was two shots behind the medalist. Her play helped the Racers to a second-place team finish among 14 squads, including six total OVC teams. Folke currently ranks fourth in the OVC in stroke average (75.4).

Knight, a sophomore from Hopkinsville, Kentucky, won the medalist honor at the TSU Big Blue Intercollegiate held at the Hermitage Golf Club. Knight carded rounds of 71-72-69 to finish at 212 (-1) and top the field of 79 by a shot. Knight had entered the final round three shots off the lead before making his comeback. His performance helped Murray State to a fourth place team finish in a field of 13 squads.
